A Word from the Chair
Well, here I am your new Section Chair and all I can say is that I must be crazy or something! Actually, this job has already proved to be exciting and rewarding. I look forward to meeting each of your chapters in the upcoming year and during the summer months. I hope to try some new ideas next year and I look forward to some ideas from all of you (please remember that without the chapters, the section wouldn't exist). Anyhow, I hope I can serve you well in this position and I promise to do my best.
Have a great summer everyone and look forward to a challenging and exciting year!

Summer is upon us and so is the Section Picnic on July 13th at Toughannock Falls State Park. The picnic is being hosted by Gamma Chapter (Cornell for those who forgot already!). It looks like there will be a great turnout of people and a lot of fun. Directions are enclosed in this mailing or can be located at the following web site:

We are hoping to start the festivities at 12:00 (noon) so please don't push PA time too far! :>Sectionals News
At Sectionals we had the early riser edition of our Business meetings. As it turned out, I (Dave) am your new section chair as mentioned above. Once again we set many different dates as shown throughout the newsletter. Section Web Site

to Section Picnic
Ok, here are directions to the Summer Picnic from various areas of the
state. I must WARN you that I am TERRIBLE at directions, so these should be confirmed
ahead of time! :>
From Buffalo: Take the I90 until Exit #42 (SR14 South). Take the
14 South until you hit the 96 (about 1 MI). The 96 will intersect with the 414 which will
again split back to 96 (make sure you take the 96). Take the 96 until you reach Covert. In
Covert there is a road called East Covert Road and you want to take a left there. Stay on
that road until you hit the 89. Take a right on the 89 and go south. Then follow the map
below.
From Syracuse: Take I81 South to Route 13W(11). Take the 13 for
about 20 miles until you hit Route 366. Take 366 into Ithaca and find Route 89. Follow
Route 89 North and follow the map below.
From Alfred: Follow Route 17 until just about before Elmira and
get off on Route 13E. Take the 13 into Ithaca and find Route 89. Go North on 89 and follow
the map below.
From Fredonia: Get to Buffalo and follow their directions.
From St. Bon.: Call AAA
no really, take the 17 and follow
Alfred's directions.
From Rochester: You actually have two choices. Take the 490 South
to the Thruway and either take the 96 all the way over (see Buffalo directions) or you can
take the Thruway following Buffalo's directions.
From Geneseo: You also have two choices. You can either take the
390 to the I90 and go over following Buffalo's directions or you can take the 390 to the
17 following Alfred's directions.
From Oswego: Ok
You can either make your way to Syracuse
and follow their directions or you can take 104 to Route 34 all the way to Ithaca and then
find Route 89 and then follow the directions below.
In any case, please call AAA or get ahold of Cornell if you have any questions. These are rough directions, and hopefully more explicit directions will be coming shortly!!
